"So yes, call me un-Australian, mock my interest in the world game..."

Since I'm busy listening to the cricket, please take as read your mocking and naming as un-Australian.

I don't like cricket (oh no), but then I'm considering taking up golf so maybe there's hope for me after all...

Maybe we could just decide the winner of the match at the coin toss? Rather than sit around for five days with no result for your efforts, let's just toss the coin and whoever wins that can have the game. Then we can all just sit around, socialising over a responsibly drunk beverage or two...

The alternative is to give all of the players (including those back in the sheds) a wireless microphone so we can hear exactly what they think.

That sounds good. He will learn. My wife used to hate cricket and think that it was boring until one of my 12 year old twin boys started playing. Maybe your six year old will turn you around. By the way - Bad luck in the game against Arsenal

Thanks George...
And Peter, Dave & Turns... even cricketers are starting to realize just how mind numbingly boring cricket is. Nobody goes to 5 day matches anymore, 1 day is now recognised as being too long, 20-20 is the latest manifestation of this dreadful game. But do you see a pattern? If they could go a bit further and get it down to a couple of overs I might even watch it. But to give up 5 days of commercial free radio to listen to has been cricketers talk about the good old days... puhleaseee.
So yes, call me un-Australian, mock my interest in the world game, but deep down you know its dull don't you?
Did I mention my 6 year old got a set of kanga cricket stumps, bat and ball this morning at his birthday party? I was so proud of him not being able to put the bails on the stumps (or know what they were)

Oh Michael I am so with you on this one. I HATE the fact that some stupid game that's just an excuse for people to do nothing and drink beer RUINS my ability to enjoy the radio just at the point in the year when I have more time to spend enjoying it. And then to add insult to injury, it's also plastered all over the TV, espeically when I want to watch the midday movie or something equally important.

And then just when you think it's all over and you hear Tony's ducelt tones in the evening in January, two weeks later it's back on again and you think you're never going to escape. . .

Perhaps I should stop ranting now, but really I could go on.
